...one of the most perfect days I have ever had the opportunity to be a part of. One of the most amazing human beings that presently walks the Earth, Casey Knoper married Mr. Jordan Miedema! Before we talk too much about that day though… we need to take it back to when wedding chaos began. It all started the day that my dear friend decided to make her own wedding dress… you read that correctly. My crazy talented friend got engaged in January of this year, planned her wedding and made her own dress in less than 4 months, and finished the final details of the dress the night before the wedding. She’s an incredible seamstress and her dress was stunning… but before you get to see it… let’s read about this amazing day!!

Casey and Jordan started off their mornings getting ready at each of their parents homes where the girls had friends doing hair and makeup and the boys had the help of YouTube videos to tie their ties. They then went to The Grant Pavilion at Millennium Park where Jordan had a surprising “first look” of his bride… (His brother Jeremy actually put a dress on and when Jordan thought he was going to see Casey looking all beautiful… there was his brother, in all his glory. Equally as fabulous but not quite what Jordan was expecting.) When Jordan finally got to see Casey he smiled from ear to ear and they shared some of the sweetest moments.

The two were married under the pavilion and their wedding verses were: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27 … Ironically it was one of the windiest days to date in 2022, but that did not stop the day from being any more perfect. 285 family and friends surrounded the couple as they said their vows.

Following the ceremony, the wedding party and all of the guests headed to the Lubbers Barn to enjoy dinner and speeches from both the bride and grooms father. As well as Jordans brother Jeremy and Casey’s sister Robyn. All of the speeches had their own surprises, Bob - we were all surprised you got through most of the speech without sobbing the whole way through, and also everyone now knows how much of a loner Casey was. Sid- you had everyone in the building willing to spend big money for a chance to eat first! Robyn- I’m not sure how you did it, but I think Jordan is going to love his new knit slippers equally as much as Casey loves hers. Jeremy- honestly the roasting of Jordan was epic, like that one time Jordan…. (Insert your own Jordan story here)

When I asked Casey to sum up the day as best as she could she said this: “I'm not sure how to sum up the wedding day. It was definitely a whirlwind and (besides maybe some aggressive ceremony wind) it was such a fun day. What is very evident is that we have some amazing people in our lives. Our families were awesome, we have the best friends and siblings that made up the most amazing wedding party, and we had 285 of our closest friends and family all show up in various ways to cheer us on, not just on May 6 but before and after too.

Casey and Jordan I cannot wait to see the work God does in your lives as a couple. Your foundation will not be shaken because your lives are built on the ROCK. Continue to put Him first and you will be able to weather any storm.
