Meg and Dusty - October 19,2019
There are so many things that I could say about this day…. about this couple… about their story… about their joy. I’ll start by saying this…. I have a phrase that I like to say when it comes to photography…. “People over pictures, always.” I remind myself of this over and over again because I want to make sure that I love and serve the PEOPLE that come into my life and not only focus on the business side of things. Pictures are important but recognizing the value of the people IN my pictures is what truly makes the most impact. Megan and Dustin live everyday valuing people over everything else. If you spend any time with them at all, you will see this so clearly in them.
While I love Dustin and Megan's love for people and how genuine they are in their friendships, I also love their love story. I love how God has placed each of them in each others lives. This day was truly perfect. The weather for mid-October was absolutely amazing, and the entire wedding and every detail was stunning and the location was a dream.
Briar Barns is an old barn that has been re-done into an event space. Built in the 1870’s the history of the property is felt the moment you pull into the driveway. From the white wrap around porch of the farmhouse to the distressed metal roof of the barn, this property is full of uniqueness you won’t find anywhere else. Not to mention, the outdoor ceremony in the woods is a dream come true.
While this wedding was a visual dream, it was also so heartfelt and endearing. Their officiant, a former hockey coach of Dustin's did an amazing job sharing about their relationship and their love for one another, as well as making a special tribute to the grooms father who passed away last year and I can't even tell you how much I cried during the mother/son dance listening to "He gets that from you." by Reba.
I felt so honored that I was the one who had the opportunity to capture their day for their family and friends to remember forever!! Enjoy some of my favorite images that tell a visual story of their day!!
